FERNANDINA BEACH - Staci McMonagle, a 29-year resident of Fernandina Beach and a life-long Floridian, has announced her candidacy for City Commission Seat 4, announced City Clerk Caroline Best.

McMonagle will face former Vice Mayor Len Kreger and Scott Inglis in the first round of voting on Aug. 18. A winner is decided if one of the three candidates receives more than 50 per cent of the vote. If not, the two candidates with the most votes advance to the November election.
This is McMonagle's second run for a city commission seat. In 2022, she ran against current Vice Mayor Darron Ayscue and Genence Minshew for Seat 5.
Ayscue is seeking re-election for Seat 5 and is currently unopposed. Minshew was elected in 2024 for Seat 2.
Qualifying to run for city commission ends at 5 p.m. on Friday.
